Pretty Party: Balloons

Balloons have made a bit of resurgence in the last few years (for events other than children's birthday parties). In huge bunches they're quite magical and they're quite genius holding up the center of a handful of streamers and acting as a makeshift tent. I've even seen them held by bridesmaids instead of bouquets. How do you feel about them in a wedding? Too whimsical or just whimsical enough?

Pretty Party: Reception Tents

Don't we just love a pretty reception tent? I've been to so many lovely weddings but have yet to celebrate under yards of translucent fabric. It'll happen one day, I'm certain of it. In the meantime, let's ooh la la over these gorgeous parties.

Jed + Jillian + Some Ferocious Beasts

I saw this wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes not too long ago and I was immediately in love. The Natural History Museum in Los Angeles is such a unique and gorgeous place to hold an event— yes the polar bear is a bit ominous, but overall the space has a great Wes Anderson feel to it (in the best possible way). I think you'll dig it.

Dresses + Drink Stations

We are in full-on Royal Wedding hoopla here in Brisbane (and probably everywhere in the world). Now, I'm not saying this is good or bad (although I will say that I fluctuate between being completely intrigued and completely irritated) but it has got me in the wedding mood. I discovered Maison Bellaish (the stunning bridal and ready-to-wear fashion label) awhile ago and have been wondering when it would make it into a post. Well, today is that day. I know you're going to love Mr. Bellaish's designs as well as the styling of the photographs. They have such an elegant and vintage feel to them.

I'm hoping to make it to a viewing party tomorrow night. It's a girls-only affair and we've been asked to dress up as if we were actually going to the wedding. Oh and to bring a teacup and saucer to drink champagne out of. Sounds like a lot of fun right? Know what would be even more fun? If I showed up to said gala and there was one of these lovely drink stations waiting for me. (Of course if there's nothing more than a chilled bottle of pink champagne sitting on the kitchen bench that'll be just fine as well!)

Take A Seat

I often get suggestions on what to blog about (mostly because I whine "I don't know what to blogggggg abouuuuuuuuut" and those around me offer input to stop the noise. [PS. Thanks!]). That said, I was with a friend today and we were talking about wedding details (as two unengaged ladies often will) and we got on the topic of seating charts and escort cards. I don't think she actually said "you should blog about that", but I was happy for the unintentional suggestion. And so are you because there are some good ones in this collection. Are you planning anything that needs a seating chart or place cards? I've always thought a fancy dinner party (or even a not-so-fancy dinner party) would feel even more special with seating cards. Maybe one day soon...
