Lula is a design partnership based in Sweden consisting of graphic designers, photographers, illustrators and prop stylists. Their aesthetic is vintage and soft and lovely and silly. Like I've said before, I've become increasingly interested in prop styling and I fell in love instantly with the work of Lula.
See why?! They are clearly quite crafty and imaginative and manage to strike perfect harmony between whimsy and modernity. It always has that Scandinavian sensibility: saturated colors atop crisp whites with plenty of light.
One thing I love about design*sponge is their "sneak peek" section. They wander around artists homes allowing the readers a glimpse into what personally inspires the inhabitant. Elisabeth Dunker (of Lula and Studio Violet) was kind enough to allow d*s to photograph and share some of her home.
Her home is rich with texture and pattern and there are so many vintage pieces perfectly mixed in with the newer. Her birch tree wall paper is amazing! I'm also spectacularly fond of the orange pendant above her kitchen table.
One last little bit to share is from her shop Studio Violet. These are just a handful of the fun illustrations sold on the site. I just may have to get my hands on that moustached gentleman or that Katta kitten (of course that's her name).
